Hey all…just got back from the gym and I’m super tired but it feels soooo good. Going to bed now because I have to go to work in the morning but today marks the first day of this crazy 30 challenge that my friend has me doing with him. That’s right…I’m going to work out 30 days straight (for real this time lol).
I didn’t do anything to crazy tonight, just an hour or so on the treadmill (I haven’t quite worked myself up to running yet but I will). My heart rate was between 140 and 160 the whole time because I kept adjusting the speed every lap and the (for some reason I can not think of the proper word for what I want to say, but for now I’ll say “intensity” but I know it starts with a “v…I think…you know the angle…you know…idk) but I did that and that was cool and yes my legs felt like jello afterwards. And then we hopped on the machines and did some ab and core workouts.
Tomorrow is lower body and of course cardio (gotta lose some jiggly)…I’m thinking I might do a little something in the morning as well. Some kind of cardio…biggest loser maybe…hmmm we’ll see.
Oh also as far as food goes, I wasn’t really hungry today. I had a jimmy johns sandwich (my fave, the beach club w/bacon) and a chewy granola bar. I also snuck in a few mini sized candy pieces but whatever. I had my 64 ounces of water and some tea. Overall, I think it’s a good start. I’ll weigh in tomorrow morning to let you all know some kind of starting point.
I decided that I won’t necessarily count calories but I’ll really watch what I eat. My brother is going to start juicing so maybe I’ll have a few ounces of homemade juice tomorrow as well. It can’t hurt right??
Ok….goodnight!!!

So as you all know i’m visiting a friend in the ‘sota and we (well she) was invited to a soft opening of a near by noodles and company.
I had never been to one so I was super excited! Anywho, guess what i had…a spicy chicken Caesar sandwich. It was delicious! I also had a side casear salad…i love my greens and veggies. It was amazing! and filling.
Free food is the best food…especially when its good food.
So I’ll be back home in Michigan on Sunday. Being in Minnesota has for some reason just motivated me to get back into it…it being a healthy lifestyle. I guess all I needed was some fresh air and a break from the city and fast paced life I have. I’m feeling quite rejuvenated so I decided today to get my head on straight and at least make a grocery list.
So far I have on my list…
that’s all i have for now. I think that may be all I buy just to make sure I don’t over eat.
My plan is to eat 6 meals a day (I go into work early and get off late so I’m going to need more meals because its a guarantee that I’ll get hungry later on in the evening).
I’m thinking eggs or oatmeal for breakfast…maybe even an omelet with some veggies.
Lunch probably a small salad w/wo tuna…we’ll see…or a sandwich with avocado, egg, tomato, and spinach (if i didn’t eat eggs for breakfast).
Dinners looking like some kind of salad or pita with hummus and tabbouleh or better yet brown rice, black beans, and some veggies…
And of course 3 snacks somewhere in the middle…like a granola bar or some almonds or I’m thinking about getting a slim-fast shake thing..you know what i mean…I’v had slim-fast before and it was pretty filling and delicious but i think i’ll mix it with water instead of milk (we’ll see how that goes).
Of course I’ll be drinking my 80oz of water. I rounded up lol…and I really am going to try to eat every 3 hours. Also I’m considering adding an appetite suppressant in there somewhere. My appetite really does get the best of me sometimes. With an appetite suppressant I won’t feel as hungry, will be able to eat less, and won’t feel hungry which will prevent my body from going into starvation mode. I think it sounds like a good idea.
I’m going to try and take pics of my meals too…even at work lol
what do you guys think?

Workout command! Give me 20 elbow pushups! Down, down, up, up counts as ONE! (Taken with GifBoom)
“Muscle makes all the difference.”
Just to answer a few of the questions I received in one swoop: yes, this is me; the first photo was taken about a month after I started working out with a personal trainer; the second photo is four months after I started with the trainer. I posted this on Reddit’s ProgressPics forum and got a big response from women who were discouraged about their exercise when it seemed like they weren’t losing any pounds. Thought sharing this on my blog might help some others.
Building muscle is so important and makes a big difference in how I look and feel. I won’t even weigh myself anymore, but prefer to use visual references like this — there’s still plenty of room for improvement, but you can see that numbers aren’t all that matter.
